My name is Stuart Presland and am the owner of Southrnwolf Kennels. I have always loved dogs and working with dogs but the Alaskan Malamute breed is really something special to me.

How I fell in love with Alaskan Malamutes.............
 

After showing Bull Terriers for a number of years I wanted a change to a different breed. I was a very big fan of the Siberian Husky, but was shown a few photos of Alaskan Malamutes and fell in love with them. I then went to a few breeders to look at some, searching for the right one to start my breeding program. I came across a black and white bitch who was to be my first malamute, my foundation dog of Southrnwolf, which we named Jessie (Kurralaska Lucky Wolf).

I've enjoyed showing Jessie at many shows, collecting many best of breed certificates and ribbons/sashes so my partner. With this success in mind Katrina and I decided to buy another Alaskan malamute, which we named Odie (Nahimana Arctic Knight). He has been a joy to train and become a member of our pack.

My aim at Southrnwolf Kennels is to improve the Australian lines, to breed out faults within the breed, producing the best pedigree Alaskan Malamutes in Australia.
